Shockwave Therapy

What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that accelerates healing, reduces pain, and enhances mobility by delivering high-energy acoustic waves to targeted areas. Commonly used in physical therapy, orthopedics, and sports medicine, it effectively treats chronic pain, osteoarthritis, and soft tissue injuries without surgery or medication.

Conditions Treated

Shockwave Therapy addresses various ailments, including:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Calcific shoulder tendinitis
  • Shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome)
  • Chronic back and neck pain
  • Hip bursitis
  • Myofascial trigger points
  • Osteoarthritis (knee, thumb, and other joints)

Benefits

  • Non-invasive: No needles or downtime.
  • Fast Results: Many feel relief after a few sessions.
  • Natural Healing: Stimulates the body’s repair processes.
  • Pain Reduction: Addresses chronic discomfort.
  • Improved Mobility: Restores function and range of motion.
  • Cost-effective: A less expensive alternative to surgery.

How It Works/Physiological Mechanism

Shockwave Therapy works by sending acoustic waves deep into the affected tissues. These waves promote increased blood circulation, stimulate cell regeneration, encourage the breakdown of scar tissue and calcification and block joint pain. At a cellular level, it triggers the release of growth factors that accelerate healing and repair damaged tissue. The result is improved tissue structure, reduced inflammation, and long-term pain relief.

Is It Right for You?

If you have chronic pain or injuries resistant to traditional treatments, Shockwave Therapy might help. Ideal for athletes, those recovering from injuries, or individuals dealing with age-related degeneration, it supports a return to everyday activities.
