The Graston Technique
Whether you suffer from neck pain, shoulder pain, Golfer’s elbow, Tennis elbow, back pain, wrist pain, knee pain, foot pain, ankle pain, hip pain, wrist tendinitis, ITB tendinitis, Fibromyalgia, or any other treatable condition, it seems like there’s plenty of pain to go around. We at Balance would rather limit that pain. That’s why we turn to one of our most effective pain-relief techniques: The Graston Technique.
Conceived by an injured athlete in the twentieth century, the Graston Technique is a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that we use to detect and effectively treat scarred tissue and mobility restrictions. Because the Graston Technique is patented, our physical therapists are specially trained to handle the instruments involved.
The Problem with Scarred Tissue
Scarred tissue, which can result from injuries or other misuse of limbs, including sprains and strains, limits the muscular range of motion, and in many instancesócauses pain. Pain, of course, and limited mobility can prevent patients from functioning at the same level they did before they suffered the injury. Therefore, it’s important that scarred tissue is treated.
The Graston Technique Response
The Graston Technique allows patients to feel like themselves again. It helps reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medications, resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent, and allows faster rehabilitation and recovery.
